“We are the music makers; we are the dreamers of dreams.”
A group of people, spearheaded by the late Margaret Ann Moon, were great examples of being music makers and dreamers of dreams. The founders of St. Joseph’s had a dream…and they made it come true. Mrs. Moon desired that no deserving student be turned away from St. Joseph’s because of financial need. And so the annual Auction Gala was born out of another dream turned into reality to raise some much needed money for tuition assistance. What started out as a small affair has turned into a truly magical event. However, the heart of Gala has never changed: raising money for tuition assistance to allow those who dream of attending SJCS the opportunity to do so.
Upon entering the transformed gymnasium and taking in the beautifully decorated room, one can feel that our event is different. There are, of course, ladies and gentlemen dressed to the nines, fabulous food and spirits, and dancing. But in the middle of it all, there is a vibe, a heartbeat if you will, that makes the Gala something truly special. The very heartbeat that you can hear echoing in conversation, in the music, in the cadence of the auctioneer’s voice, is the heartbeat of our students.
Our students are the heart of our school. They are in fact, our very own music makers and dreamers of dreams. Each student is given a rare opportunity upon entering St. Joseph’s to dream bigger, to make louder music, to blaze trails, and to do all of it with the love of Christ. All of our students are important and all of our students deserve the opportunity to enter into our doorways to begin making their own music, dreaming their own dreams.
We invite you to come make music and dream with us as we host our 21st Annual Auction Gala on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 7:00 PM in the school gymnasium. A Knight of Pure Imagination provides the perfect theme to reflect all that our students imagine they will one day become.
The Gala will feature entertainment by some of our own St. Joseph’s students, fabulous food prepared by Soby’s – Table 301, a “Man Cave” with a large screen TV featuring the ACC championship game (Go Tigers!), dancing, and silent and live auctions.
Our goal is simple: to raise over $310,000 to ensure that every accepted student has the opportunity to attend St. Joseph’s…to begin making their own music and dreaming their own dreams!
